Long Lake Provincial Park,
Halifax, Nova Scotia (Part 1 of 2)

Long Lake Provincial Park, Nova ScotiaSteve and I checked out Long Lake Provincial Park on Sunday, and it’s now one of my favourite places to go hiking, because it's so accessible from downtown Halifax. From the Armdale Rotary, the entrance is only about a 5- to 10-minute drive up the Bay Road on the left-hand side.

When you enter the park from the parking log, you walk a short distance on the main path through the woods to get to a point where you can go right or left along Long Lake.

Long Lake Provincial Park, Nova ScotiaOn this, our first, adventure we decided to go right, and followed the path inland for about 30 minutes until we met up with a beautiful river. At the river, we turned left to follow the river back down to the lake. The pictures that accompany this post show off some of the beautiful spots we found along this lazy river.
